چکیده

Inhibin is released during late prophase by suppressing the FSH secretion without affecting LH secretion. Immunization against inhibin will increase FSH synthesis leading to ovulation rate. As both immunization against inhibin and FSH injection could increase ovulation rate, therefore, an interaction of both treatment should act synergically or addively. Immunized group (n=10) were immunized with bIa(129)Tyr30 against inhibin, whereas control group (n=10) were given ovalbumin alone. The result shown that inhibin antibody titer increased from 18.80 ± 4.00%(sem) D-28 to 22.90 ± 4.37%(sem) D-14. Moreover, evaluation on ovulation rate for both control and immunized groups were 6.1 ± 1.83 and 9.2 ± 2.44 ( p<0.01), respectively. However, there was no significant increased on ovulation rate as a result of synergy between immunization and exogenous FSH treatment ( 6.1 ± 1.83 v 9.2 ± 2.44 ; p>0.20).

O-11: Immunoneutralization of Inhibin Alpha Subunit as A Tool for Improving Farm Animal Fertility

Background: The objectives of a series of studies undertaken was to improve farm animal reproductive efficiency in terms of embryo production efficiency, conception rate and litter size by immunoneutralization of inhibin in conjunction with other conventional reproductive techniques. Materials and Methods: A recombinant porcine inhibin alpha-subunit mature peptide was produced by mass scale and...

Ovarian and hormonal response of female goats to active immunization against inhibin.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of active immunization against inhibin on hormonal levels and the ovulation rate in goats. Ten adult Shiba goats (Capra hircus) in two groups were used in this study. The first group was injected with inhibin vaccine (immunized, n=5) and the second group was injected with Freund's adjuvant (control, n=5) followed by three booster injections at 4-w...

The effect of active immunization against inhibin on gonadotropin secretions and follicular dynamics during the estrous cycle in cows.

The hypothesis of the present study is that active immunization of cows against inhibin would neutralize endogenous inhibin, increase circulating levels of follicle stimulating hormone, and subsequently affect follicular dynamics and the ovulation rate during the estrous cycle. Thirteen cows were immunized against inhibin alpha-subunit and, 6 cows were immunized with a placebo. Both groups were...

Gonadotrophin concentrations and ovulation rates in Suffolk ewes actively or passively immunized against inhibin alpha.

Mature Suffolk ewes were either actively or passively immunized against the synthetic fragment of porcine inhibin alpha, pI alpha(1-30), to determine the effects on gonadotrophin secretion and ovulation rate. Thirteen control ewes were immunized against human serum albumin, 12 ewes were actively immunized against pI alpha(1-30) and 36 ewes were passively immunized with pI alpha(1-30) antiserum....

Passive immunization of ewes against an inhibin-like peptide increases follicle-stimulating hormone concentrations, ovulation rate, and prolificacy in spring-mated ewes.

The objective of this experiment was to determine whether passive immunization against a synthetic inhibin-like peptide (alpha-IF) increases FSH secretion and reproductive performance of ewes bred in the spring. Crossbred ewes were assigned to three treatment groups of 10 ewes each. Progesterone-releasing pessaries (CIDR-G) were inserted and left in place for 12 d. The CIDR-G were removed on Ap...
